Participates in reviewing customer complaints and responds accordingly.
Performs clerical work involved in maintaining accurate records, answers and/or re-directs customer service requests, receives and accounts for money, assists with various billing functions.
Offers administrative support to staff as needed, and performs any other related duties that may be required.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS Bills customer accounts and prepares invoices for each billing cycle.
Maintains the accuracy of correct billing amounts in a timely manner.
Prepares, transmits, and releases accurate billing files.
Administers collection process including posting and mailing of late notices, disconnect letters, 48-hour notices, and water service disconnects.
Responds to title company requests for demands for payment within 24 hours.
Creates new customer accounts and updates stockholder certificates as needed.
Responds to public inquiries in a courteous and friendly manner; able to apply and communicate policies and regulations regarding water service, billing, and meters to customers; provides information within scope of knowledge or refers to the proper person and/or office.
Greets and accommodates visitors and customers at the counter and by telephone, responding to their inquiries as necessary.
Investigates disputed bills and misapplied payments.
Makes necessary account adjustments.
Generates and delivers data reports to stakeholders as requested.
QUALIFICATIONS Knowledge of:
Billing procedures and fiscal record keeping methods Computerized billing and service information systems.
Customer service procedures and methods of resolving complaints.
Proper work safety standards.
Ability to:
Perform basic arithmetic.
Deal tactfully and courteously with the public.
Write routine reports and correspondence.
Speak effectively before customers or employees.
Respond to customers billing concerns, and quickly and accurately analyze any problems.
Follow oral and written directions.
Keep accurate records.
Establish and maintain cooperative working relationships.
Pass pre-employment physical, drug and alcohol examination, and background check.
Education, Experience, & Licenses Requirements:
High School diploma or equivalent.
Two years of customer service answering phones and computer experience.
Experience with common office computer software programs, particularly Microsoft Word & Excel.
Valid California Drivers' License issued by the California Department of Motor Vehicles.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
