Requirements for Applying
Substitutes are 'on-call' employees serving on a day-to-day basis. The intent of a substitute is to fill in for an employee who is on a leave of absence. Substitutes are called for assignments through an automated system- SubFinder. Be advised that absences are unpredictable; therefore assignment offers are not guaranteed. BASIC FUNCTIONUnder the direction of an assigned supervisor, assists certificated teacher(s) in providing instruction to students placed in regular or special education programs; monitor and report student progress in areas of behavior and performance; perform clerical and instructional support duties. EXPERIENCE Paid or volunteer experience with pre-school or elementary age children is preferred.EDUCATIONHigh School Diploma or equivalent and six (6) Early Childhood Education (ECE) or Child Development units, and must meet NCLB requirements (48 college semester units or complete Proficiency Exam through Twin Rivers Unified School District). LICENSES/CERTIFICATES:May require a valid driver's license. CPR/First Aid certificate with pediatric endorsement.PARAEDUCATOR PROFICIENCY EXAMTHURSDAYS AT 9 A.M.The Paraeducator Exam will be offered every Thursday at 9:00am (Check in at 8:45am) at the Adult Education School. You will need to schedule an appointment in order to take the exam as there is limited space available.Call or Email Lana Vahchuama at 916-566-2785 x66909 or lana.vahchuama@twinriversusd.org to get scheduled for an exam. Examinees will be given 2 hours to complete the test.Location: 5703 Skvarla Avenue, McClellan CA 95652Test InformationThis test covers the areas of English (including reading, writing and grammar), Mathematics (no calculators allowed), and the Ability to Assist. A tutorial/study guide is available for review in the Adult Ed Office. The test consists of 100 multiple choice questions. An examinee must score a minimum of 75% in order to pass the test.

CPR/First Aid Certification (CPR/First Aid certificate with pediatric endorsement.)
NCLB Compliance (48 college semester units or pass District's Proficiency Test Certificate )

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
