Requirements for Applying
Substitutes are 'on-call' employees serving on a day-to-day basis. The intent of a substitute is to fill in for an employee who is on a leave of absence. Substitutes are called for assignments through an automated system- Aesop. Be advised that absences are unpredictable; therefore assignment offers are not guaranteed. 1 year experience and must be over 21 years of age.Must be able to lift 150 lbs. Will have to take and pass SIA Lift Testing prior to employment.BASIC FUNCTIONUnder supervision, oversee and monitor safety and well-being of property, students, faculty and staff for a District site; enforce applicable sections of the California Education Code, the District Board Policy, individual school rules, policies, regulations and procedures; assist in the maintenance of an orderly and safe campus.EDUCATIONHigh school diploma or equivalent is required. LICENSES, CERTIFICATIONS, BONDING AND/OR TESTING REQUIREDPossession of current First-Aid and CPR certification is required. Possession of current, state-issued Security Guard License is required.OTHER REQUIREMENTSMust be twenty-one (21) years of age.
Upon hire, selected candidates will be asked to provide proof of a negative TB reading, and perform a criminal background check by the Department of Justice and FBI.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
