EXPERIENCEFive (5) years of experience with a California law enforcement agency, with an emphasis on first line supervision specifically with one (1) or more years as a Sergeant. Any combination of one (1) year of full-time municipal law enforcement experience will be credited towards two (2) years of specialized law enforcement experience. The successful candidate must have the ability to obtain a POST Management Certificate within two (2) years of appointment to Lieutenant. Experience would include responsibility in patrol, investigations, administration, personnel evaluations, training, and technology. Experience within an educational law enforcement setting is desirable. EDUCATIONAssociate Arts Degree or equivalent in General Education or Criminal Justice from an accredited college, university, or school with specialization in Police Science or Criminal Justice.A Baccalaureate Degree in Criminal Justice or related field is highly desirable. LICENSES, CERTIFICATIONS, BONDING AND/OR TESTING REQUIREDA valid Class C - California Driver's License, a good driving record, and proof of insurance are required. Must be a citizen of the United States and be twenty-one (21) years of age by the filing date; graduate of POST Training and possession of an Intermediate and/or eligible for an Advanced and/or Supervisory POST Certificates within one (1) year of appointment, and eligible for POST Management certification, if not already certified, within two (2) years of appointment. Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
